This Privacy Policy explains how IIF collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information. “IIF”, “we” and “us” mean Invest In Farmers Ltd. (trading as IIF Canada) and its Canadian affiliates, including IIF Farm Management Ltd., IIF AG Ltd., and the general partners of IIF Pocket Farm LP and IIF Production Fund LP.
It applies to personal information we handle through our website, investor platform, the Farm in Your Pocket app, producer applications and agreements, events and other interactions. It does not cover information about our employees, which is handled under a separate employee privacy notice.
We comply with the Personal Information Protection Act (Alberta), the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada), the Personal Information Protection Act (British Columbia), and Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as each applies.
IIF is responsible for personal information in its custody or control, including information we transfer to service providers. Our Privacy Officer oversees compliance with this policy and applicable privacy law.

We collect only the information we need for the purposes in section 5. We collect a Social Insurance Number only where the law requires it for tax reporting, never as a general identifier.
We collect personal information directly from you, for example through forms, account applications, agreements, calls and meetings. We collect some information automatically when you use our website or app (see section 7).
With your consent or as the law permits, we also collect information from others: identity verification and fraud-prevention providers, credit reporting agencies, people who refer you to us, public registries (such as corporate and personal property registries), and professional advisers acting for you.

We will not use your information for a new purpose without telling you and, where required, obtaining your consent.
We obtain your consent to collect, use and disclose personal information, except where the law permits or requires otherwise. We ask for express consent for sensitive information, including financial information, government identifiers and credit checks, and for any marketing email or text. Where consent is implied, it is limited to what a reasonable person would expect in the circumstances.
You may withdraw consent at any time on reasonable notice, subject to legal and contractual restrictions. Withdrawing consent may mean we cannot provide a service; for example, we cannot open an investment account without the information securities and anti-money-laundering laws require. We will explain the consequences when you ask.
We use cookies, pixels and similar technologies on our website and app.
Functional, analytics and marketing technologies, and any technology that can identify, locate or profile you, are off by default. They are activated only if you choose to turn them on in our cookie settings, which you can change at any time through the link in the website footer. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.
IIF Farm Management Ltd. uses AI-assisted tools to analyse producer applications, including profit-and-loss projections and risk assessment against market data. These tools support our team; a person reviews the analysis and makes every decision to offer, decline or vary a Share Farming Agreement. We do not make decisions about you based exclusively on automated processing.
You may ask us what personal information was used in an assessment, the main factors and parameters that informed it, and to have any inaccurate information corrected.
We do not sell personal information. We share it only as described below, and only as much as needed.

We store personal information in Canada. Our service providers, including Amazon Web Services (data storage and hosting), HubSpot (customer relationship management and email) and Adobe (Adobe Sign electronic signatures), store it in Canadian data centres.
Only IIF’s Canadian team has access to personal information about Canadian investors, producers and other individuals. Our parent group in Australia does not have access to it. We will update this policy before any personal information is stored or accessed outside Canada.
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or longer where the law requires, including securities, anti-money-laundering and tax laws. When it is no longer needed, we securely destroy or anonymize it.
We protect personal information with safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity. These include encryption in transit and at rest, multi-factor authentication, role-based access limited to people who need it, logging and monitoring, security due diligence on service providers, staff privacy training, and confidentiality obligations. No system is completely secure, but we work to reduce risk and review our safeguards regularly.
If a privacy breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you (or, in Quebec, a risk of serious injury), we will notify you and the applicable privacy regulator as the law requires, and tell you what we are doing and what you can do. We keep a record of every breach, whether or not it must be reported.
Subject to exceptions in the law, you may:
Send requests to our Privacy Officer. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We respond within the time the applicable law requires, generally 30 days, or 45 days under Alberta’s Act, and tell you if we need an extension. Access is free or at minimal cost; we will tell you of any cost in advance. If we refuse a request, we will explain why and how to challenge the decision.
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority. If we learn we have done so, we will delete it, unless a parent or guardian has consented where the law allows (in Quebec, consent of the person having parental authority is required for anyone under 14).
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. We will post the updated policy with a new effective date and, for significant changes, notify you by email or through the platform before they take effect.
